Parent Teacher Interviews: It was pleasing to see so many parents attending the interviews this week. By handing out the reports on the evening and by using our new email system we believe more parents knew about the evening and attended. These evenings are important for us because we can give so  much more information directly to parents. As always we will review the process of issuing the reports. Your thoughts on when the reports should be issued will be greatly appreciated. If you were unable to get to the interviews and want your son's or daughter's report please send them along with a note.

Web Page: Next week we are having a meeting with our web master. Hopefully you will soon see a variation to the home page. We will have an additional page that has PDF files of excursion consent notes.

School Intranet: Students are reminded about a very valuable resource availale to them. It is at this URL http://web2.crestwood-h.schools.nsw.edu.au/Welcome.html. Students can log into this page by using their network log in. This is different to their DET log in. All students should be aware of the two different log ins.

Year 11 Mentor Program: This week we began our mentor program for some Year 11 students. We had a meeting with about twelve members from the local and more distant business communities that have agreed to assist some of our Year 11 students. The program will last for about four months, finishing towards the end of Term 3. During early Term 4 we hope to have a celebratory dinner  with the students and their families and the mentors. We are excited about this program as it begins to link our community more closely to the school. We are working with a local industry partnership group (ParraSIP) as well as finding our own mentors. If you know of a local business (preferably a trades man) we would be interested in communicating with them. The business mentors  will work with the students in areas such as goal setting and some vocational shadowing.
