The Castle Hill Show (March 12, 13, 14).

I hope you all went to the show to offer support to our Agriculture students who were presenting our Belted Galloway steer in two categories. We were very fortunate to win the Belted Galloway Steer category and came third in the Heavy Weight Steer category. Our agriculture students have raised the steer and have trained him to stand for presentation at such shows.

The students who helped on the day and in the lead up were:

Prue Munro yr9,
Emily Collyer yr9,
James Sara yr9,
Courtney Jensen yr 12,
David Martin yr12,
Kieran McIlveen yr 12 and
Kyle McKenzie yr11.

David Martin was the student who presented the steer during the competitions. Congratulations to all the students. When I visited they had just finished judging and so they were very proud. There were a number of other schools there as well, some as far away as Menai and Pittwater. Unfortunately they were not as well prepared as we were nor did they have the quality livestock that we had. Congratulations and thanks should also go to Eric Date our Agriculture teacher. He does a great job with the animals and the students and the local Rotarians have rewarded him with an Excellence in Teaching award.

Not only did we exhibit a steer at the show. We also had one of our Year 12 students, Courtney Jensen entered the photographic section. She managed a first and two seconds. So congratulations to Courtney for her creativity. Her photos were really very artistic.

School Lockers: As you would know we are slowly removing old and damaged lockers from the school. They get old and damaged and look unsightly as well presenting as a health hazzard on occasion. So if a locker is damaged we will remove the door from that locker and when the bank is empty we will remove the skeleton of the locker bank. Any material inside the locker or in the space will be placed in a bag and stored in the front office for a short period of time.
