The Laptops Saga Continues:

The student laptops have arrived unannounced. We were happy for this to happen because we were expecting them to be dellivered at the end of the week or even next week. However, our happiness soon turned to gloom. Before the laptops are turned over to the students there is a test that has to occur. On Wednesday morning the first eight laptops could not be started and recognise the wireless network. Needless to say they will be ready for issue sometime next week. When the staff laptops are issued nearly every member of staff will have access to a laptop or a notebook computer.

Home Room:

Our planning  for next year and the abolition of home room is well under way. We hope to be able to mark the rolls during period one each day digitally. Students will still be in a house group. Traditional rolls will still be marked on the Monday morning COLA assembly.

 Staff Changes:

We have been able to begin the process of filling some staffing gaps for next year. We are able to form a panel and write an advertisement for positions in English, Science and Support. We are still waiting for a decision from Staffing on the Head Teacher Support position. We have had a TAS teacher appointed for next year. We welcome Kristie Thomas in this role.

 Uniform:

I believe I have written about students and sport uniform earlier but  a few students persist in going against our wishes. Students are required to come to school in full school uniform and change into their sport uniform just prior to doing PE. Once the lesson is finished students are expected to change back into their proper school uniform.  Students are expected to change back into their uniform before going home. The only exception to this is on Wednesday afternoon. The few students who persist in going against our wishes will be issued with lunch detentions and After School Detentions if they persist. We ask for your co-operation in this matter.
