Debating and Public Speaking

Debating is actively promoted and enjoys a good participation rate at Crestwood High. Training is held weekly for teams during competition season and the school also plays host to a range of gala days and regional finals, giving students opportunities both to see and participate in debating at a very high standard.

Our best debaters in Stage 4 enter the Western Sydney Region Debating Competition. In 2005 our Year 8 team won the competition, and we continue to do well in this competition consisting of approximately 400 debaters from 37 schools.
 

Our debaters also represent the school in the Premier's Debating Challenge at different levels.

We wish this year's debating teams the very best in their competitions in 2009.
