With the introduction of the new syllabus in Stages 4 and 5 there is greater emphasis on problem solving and mathematics in everyday situations. The five interrelated process of questioning, applying strategies, communicating, reasoning and reflecting are integrated in all topics in Mathematics.
Students will develop and refine skills in the following strands:
- Number
- Algebra
- Measurement
- Space & Geometry
- Data
In Stage 6 the full range of Mathematics courses are offered: Extension 2 and 1, Mathematics and General Maths. We aim to continue the learning journey with your child at whatever stage they may be to develop competence and confidence in Mathematics.
