What was the last book you read?

For me it was The Road by Cormac McCarthy. I liked this book because it about a journey by a father and a son in a post apocolyptic environment. As I was reading it I was constantly reminded of the Mad Max movies where "good" was persued by the evil gangs in a world where petrol was a currency. The Road deals with the journey of a father and his son. The father is not well (infact he is dying) and is attempting to lead his son to some unknown destination - "a better place to live" perhaps. The book ends with the son moving off on his own after the father dies. You wonder what will happen to the son in the future. I think this makes the book a better read than some others because it leaves you to do the thinking about what will happen to the boy. I believe it is coming out as a film - it is something I would like to see on the screen.
