Careers Education
Our Careers Adviser, Mrs Tina Fisher, provides a service to students about options at school and possible pathways from school to all post school options. These include:
- Careers counselling
- Study skills
- Study options
- Part time and casual work issues
- Tax file numbers
- University study options and HELP (Higher Education Loans Program)
- Scholarships, accommodation, applying to UAC (Universities Admission Centre) and using the UAC guide
- TAFE
- Group Training Colleges Companies
- Private Colleges including courses, fess, applications, procedures and scholarships
- Traineeships and new apprenticeships
- Subject selections.
Year 10 students have an interview during their subject selection process to ensure they have chosen the best combination of subjects for them. They also undertake work experience for one week, usually during May each year.
Year 10 and Year 12 students also attend the Western Sydney Careers Expo at the University of Western Sydney, Parramatta Campus. Students have access to over 90 representatives from Universities, TAFE, Private Colleges, Defence Forces, NSW Police and Community Organisations.
